The bicycle parking system 'Mbox' is undergoing a name change to 'Bikebox,' as the Luxembourg National Railway Company (CFL) takes the reins while maintaining the fundamental principles.

Cyclists will continue to enjoy secure parking at 73 locations throughout the country.

Taking charge of operations, CFL will serve as the central point of contact for municipalities interested in establishing secure bicycle parking spaces. Over the next few years, plans are underway to add approximately 20 more such spaces across the country.

Aligned with the national mobility plan, which highlights that 60% of residents live within a ten-minute bike ride from a CFL station, the importance of cycling to these stations and the need for secure parking is evident. The Bikebox ensures a safe parking area for cyclists at these locations.

The use of these parking facilities remains free of charge, with all requests for access cards directed to CFL.

Importantly, existing M-cards will retain their validity, ensuring a seamless transition for current users.
