Luxembourg police conducted two major roadside traffic operations last Thursday, in Dudelange and Pétange, focusing on vehicle safety and driver compliance.

Officers primarily checked visibility, lighting, tyre condition, and the overall technical state of vehicles. The controls resulted in numerous infractions.

16 drivers were cited for using a mobile phone while driving. This violation carries a fine of €250 and four penalty points. Seven drivers were unable to present a valid licence, and three were found to have an expired roadworthiness certificate.

Additionally, five drivers were stopped for speeding and a further 15 were fined for improperly adjusted headlights that blinded other road users.
