The 37th edition of the Student Fair takes place on 26 and 27 October at the Belval university campus. This educational event is organised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research in collaboration with the Association of Luxembourg Student Unions (ACEL).
The 2023 Student Fair boasts a gathering of 120 exhibitors representing national and international institutions of higher education. It serves as an invaluable resource for students seeking insights into academic pursuits, student life, and potential career pathways.
The event primarily attracts students in their final or penultimate years of secondary education who are on the cusp of shaping their educational and professional trajectories. At the fair, these students can engage directly with representatives from universities, higher education institutions, as well as student unions and clubs. In addition, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research maintains a presence at the Fair to provide prospective students with information concerning higher education opportunities and government financial aid.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, the Student Fair offers a virtual version alongside the in-person event, accessible through an interactive platform. In addition to the exhibitors physically present at Belval, the virtual platform accommodates an additional 90 exhibitors.
On Thursday, the event also featured conferences, with a particular focus on careers in health and education as well as opportunities in the civil service. Tom Wenandy, head of communications at the Ministry of Higher Education, serves as one of the Fair's coordinators. He notes that these three professional sectors tend to be the ones about which young people have the most questions. However, he added that students also increasingly ask questions regarding the recognition of Luxembourg diplomas abroad or – conversely – the recognition of certain foreign degrees in Luxembourg, and admission procedures in various institutions and countries, with Wenandy acknowledging that in some cases, the latter "have changed a bit" in recent years.
The Student Fair at Belval will be open to visitors once again on Friday, from 9am to 5pm.
