
During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, police were alerted to the presence of an unconscious person at a reception centre for applicants for international protection in Kirchberg.
Officers immediately went to the scene and called emergency services. According to initial reports, a physical altercation had broken out shortly earlier between the victim and another individual. The victim sustained serious injuries and is in a life-threatening condition. The suspect was also found at the scene. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the suspect was arrested and is due to appear before an examining magistrate on Thursday.
Also during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, at around 3.50am, police were informed of a person armed with a knife on Rue Marie et Joseph Hackin in Luxembourg-Neudorf. The individual had allegedly made death threats against another person.
A police patrol immediately went to the scene and located the suspect. During a search, several knives were discovered. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the weapons were confiscated and the suspect was arrested. The suspect is scheduled to appear before an examining magistrate.
