A diplomat working at the Russian Embassy was declared a persona non grata. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the diplomat's activities go against the security interests of Luxembourg.

Due to the massacre in the Ukrainian town of Bucha and the potential war crimes committed by the Russian army, European countries expelled over 200 Russian diplomats over the past few days, including one diplomat who worked in Luxembourg. This was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon by Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean Asselborn in a press release. A diplomat working at the Russian Embassy was declared a persona non grata and has to leave the country within the next 15 days.

Moscow has condemned the decisions taken by EU countries and announced its own sanctions. Russia continues to claim that reports about the massacre in Bucha are fake news and that the massacre itself was staged, despite the fact that satellite images confirm that the bodies had been laying in the streets of Bucha for weeks.

A journalistic volunteer project called 'InformNapalm' claims to have identified the Russian commander responsible for the massacre in Bucha. According to 'InformNapalm', the man responsible is the Russian Colonel Azatbek Omurbekov, whose brigade was indeed active in Bucha.
