The police report that they made a rather surprising discovery when they visited a flat in Esch-sur-Alzette on Friday afternoon.
The police were originally called to the flat because of water damage. However, when the officers entered the flat, they found a total of 170 cannabis plants, i.e. basically an entire plantation. Besides the plants, the police also found and seized seeds, a gas pistol, brass knuckles, a significant amount of cash, as well as several tools used to grow cannabis.
The flat owner was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office. On Saturday, he was brought before an examining magistrate, who decided to put him in pre-trial detention.
Suspected drug dealer arrested in Luxembourg City
The police also report that a patrol was able to observe a suspected dealer during a drug exchange in Luxembourg City on Friday evening. Following a brief chase, the man was apprehended and brought to the police station, where the officers contacted the public prosecutor's office.
It turned out that the man was not only carrying several pellets of cocaine and a large amount of cash, but he also had 15 foreign bodies inside his stomach. The man was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office and presented to an examining magistrate on Saturday. The magistrate decided that the man should be held in pre-trial detention.
