In early December, the Superior Council of Infectious Diseases issued a statement that children between the ages of 5 and 11 could be offered vaccines, with priority given to the vulnerable - similar to the approach in France and Germany.

In Germany, vaccinations for children are commencing this week, with programmes beginning in North Rhine-Westphalia on Monday 13 December.
