He understands the indignation, says Roy Reding. But he hadn’t posted out of cynicism, but out of empathy. Like many others, he was distraught about being excluded from social life as a non-vaccinated person, and having to spend hundreds of Euros a month on tests to be able to go to work.
He’s sticking to his call for a strike and resistance. Some people were seeing no other resort than to get infected, if they did not want to get vaccinated.
His statement on social networks translates as: “I am going to South Africa now to bring back mild Omicron. For free. Apart from that, I’m on strike!!!!”
Reding has no intention of stepping down as an MP. He claims to be giving a voice to those people who are no longer being heard. In his own words, he stands not for hate, agitation and division, but for freedom, togetherness and mutual respect for every person’s free choice.
The fact that he shared a journalist’s phone number in a Telegram group was not deliberate, according to Reding.
