
The incidence rate for unvaccinated people has reached 283 cases per 100,000 citizens. For vaccinated people, the rate is 140. Out of 29 hospitalised patients, 17 are not vaccinated. 10 out of 13 people in ICU are also unvaccinated.
Minister of Health Paulette Lenert had already reported these figures in Wednesday’s press briefing.
Five new deaths were recorded in relation with the coronavirus last week. Their average age was 79 years.
The virus reproduction rate continues to increase and has now reached 1.12. This means that 100 positive cases infect 112 other people, who in turn infect 125 others.
Most infections are recorded in children and teenagers below the age of 14, meaning the part of the population that cannot yet get vaccinated. The incidence rate here is close to 300 cases per 100,000 residents.
A total of 29 positive cases occurred in the primary school “Millermoaler” in Echternach between 25 October and 8 November. However, due to the All Saints’ holidays, this did not affect schooling.
Last week, 13,800 doses of coronavirus vaccines were administered. 419.166 people are now fully vaccinated, equaling 75.8% of the Luxembourgish population above the age of 12.
