Two restaurant managers spoke to our RTL colleagues about the new measures. The end of rapid testing shouldn’t pose a huge problem, they say, as most customers are vaccinated or recovered.
According to Yves Schmit, who runs a restaurant in Luxembourg City, the new regime with generalised CovidCheck should make things easier. Only one person will be required to check certificates at the entrance, and no one for rapid tests. Currently, there are only 5 or 6 customers a day still asking for a test.

Fernand Guelf, who runs a restaurant on Kirchberg, does not approve of mandatory CovidChecks for his employees. Whether you are vaccinated or not should be a private matter, and an employer checking vaccination status is a privacy violation, according to him. Should he be forced to penalise his employees, he intends to take legal action.
