
On Sunday,the Luxembourgish Communist party, KPL, had a congress on the European elections. They demand a return to "square one".
KPL has a number of demands going into the European elections. They include the annulment of the Treaty of Maastricht, the cancellation of all decisions that contribute to cuts in social services and lead to mass unemployment, and the elaboration of a common immigration policy.
At the party's 34th congress in Rumelange, all six of the central committee's chosen candidates had a chance to present themselves.
The lead candidate is Ali Ruckert. The other candidates are Elise Nunes, Rejhan Agovic, Esther Reuland, Alain Herman and Marceline Waringo.
