A man was seriously injured in a stabbing in Cessange on Saturday, with police quickly arresting a suspect.

Police were alerted on Saturday morning following an incident in Cessange in which a man was found with knife wounds. According to the Grand Ducal Police, his injuries are serious but not life-threatening. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigators from the criminal police attended the scene on the instructions of the public prosecutor to conduct an initial assessment. Based on the victim's statements, officers were able to quickly identify a suspect, who was arrested shortly afterwards and taken into custody.

The public prosecutor ordered the suspect's detention, and he appeared before an investigating judge on Sunday morning. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the attack.
