According to the latest figures from the Central Bank of Luxembourg, mortgage interest rates showed mixed movements in September.
The end of summer brought little change for residents in Luxembourg hoping to buy a home.
Variable rates edged up slightly after falling below 3% in August, a first since December 2022. In September, banks and borrowers negotiated an average variable rate of 3.08%. At this rate, a €700,000 loan over 25 years would result in monthly repayments of about €3,349.
Fixed rates, by contrast, improved compared with August. The average fixed rate negotiated by buyers fell to 3.49%, down from 3.58% the previous month. For the same loan amount and duration, this would mean monthly payments of roughly €3,501.
Meanwhile, consumer loans with a term of less than five years remained relatively stable at 4.64%.
