Photo seriesThe hidden sites of Luxembourg - Hesperange's eery swimming pool

RTL Today
The former swimming pool in the commune of Hesperange looks like the setting of an apocalyptic film. The swimming pool first opened its doors in 1934.

The former swimming pool is located in “Gantebeensmillen” in Hesperange. Gantebeensmillen literally translates to “Gantebeen’s mill” and refers to Pierre Gantenbein, an arms dealer who bought the site in 1821.

A couple of years ago, there were plans of a new spa hotel, a youth hostel, and even a night club on the site - all of these ideas were later dropped.
