Chargy's electric car charging station network has been in operation since June 2017. 18 months on, the network's management has commended its positive growth.
The network also announced the installation of a further 200 charging stations in 2019.
Currently, there are 277 such stations throughout Luxembourg. 203 of those are on public roads, 43 in Park&Rides, and 31 in private client car parks. The network manager noted an average growth of Chargy electricity use of around 2,500 kWh per month.
By the end of 2018, 481,440 kWh had been used for charging at these stations. This represents a distance of 2.5 million kilometres, or sixty times the circumference of the world.
According to a study by the European Observatory on Alternative Fuel, Luxembourg is the third best country in Europe in terms of charging stations per resident.
