The victim sustained a serious injury most likely caused by a glass being smashed on his head.
The two attackers then made a run for it, presumably in the direction of the Gare (central train station).
An ambulance was called and the victim received medical attention in situ, before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
Initial investigations suggest that the perpetrators are two young men in their early twenties who are of southern origin. Both of them wore a dark green or grey track suit.
An investigation is underway.
Witnesses are encouraged to contact the police.
