A dramatic police operation unfolded on Monday after a shot was fired in a Bertrange garage, prompting a cross-border manhunt that ended with a 36-year-old man in custody.

Shortly before 11am on Monday, police were alerted to a gunshot fired inside a garage on Rue de Mamer in Bertrange. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

According to law enforcement, the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle heading towards France. A manhunt was launched immediately, but initial efforts failed to locate the individual.

Later that evening, police special intervention units conducted an operation in Esch-sur-Alzette. Authorities confirmed that this intervention was linked to the earlier incident in Bertrange.

As part of the ongoing investigation, a 36-year-old man was arrested. The police have not released further details, citing the sensitivity of the case. The investigation remains active.
