1. See Franco-Greek singer Dafné Kritharas

What: World/Greek influences

Franco-Greek singer Dafné Kritharas draws on family history, exile, and celebration, weaving melancholy and joy into the same breath. Backed by four musicians, her striking voice – soaring one moment, hushed the next – brings traditional songs, legends, and far-travelled stories to life with rare intensity.

2. Watch the Luxembourg Song Contest

What: Who will represent Luxembourg in Basel?

The Luxembourg Song Contest returns to the Rockhal on 24 January 2026, where our next Eurovision representative will be chosen. After Laura Thorn’s win in 2025 with La Poupée monte le son and with Eurovision 2026 heading to Austria, expectations are high. The finalists are Andrew the Martian, Daryss, Eva Marija, Hugo One, Irem, Luzac, ShiroKuro, and Steve Castile. 3. Join creative workshops for kids

What: Led by secondary school students

ARTELIER is a high-energy creative day imagined by young people, for young people – an antidote to the winter routine with room to create, connect, and catch a vibe. Brought to life by FOMO, a group of secondary school students, in collaboration with STAYFOU asbl, the event puts local creativity and youth-led ideas centre stage. Between ages 12-20, and prior registration is required.

4. Visit the Belval blast furnace

What: Iron history
Where: 1 Avenue du Rock’n’Roll, L-4361 Esch-sur-Alzette

Visit both the Blast Furnace and the City of Science and enjoy an overview of the history of steel production as well as the conversion of the industrial wasteland into a contemporary urban district with remarkable architecture and urban planning. Reserve in advance.

5. See Charlie Chaplin with live orchestra

What: Great for families and kids
Where: Philharmonie Luxembourg, 1, Place de l’Europe, L-1499 Luxembourg

On the run from the police, Charlie Chaplin’s Tramp stumbles into a circus ring and, without meaning to, becomes the star of the show. Presented as a live ciné-concert with the Luxembourg Philharmonic accompanying the film on stage, this Live Cinema: Family Edition is a joyful mix of slapstick, romance and live music for all ages.

6. Hear (and even partake in) Latin jazz jam

What: Cocina Latina
Where: Brasserie de l’Aret, 365 Rte de Longwy, 1941 Merl

Top members of Luxembourg’s jazz and latin community are coming together for the Cocina Latina, organised by Heather Ni at Brasserie de l’Arret. The concert will start by the incredible Juan Carlos Gonzalez, and then the floor is open to other musicians for a jam session. But don’t worry, you can also just enjoy the concert as a listener only with snacks and drinks within reach.

7. Join second-hand clothing sale

What: Clothing sale, workshops, market
Where: Syrkus, 20 Route de Luxembourg, L-6910 Roodt-Syre
When: Saturday, 24 January and Sunday, 25 January – more details here

Join the 2nd edition of the Betzdorf Closet Sale & Green Market at the Syrkus Cultural Center in Roodt/Syre, a weekend dedicated to ethical, circular, and local fashion with a clothes sale, swap, green market, and awareness workshops. Participants must register in advance and agree to the participation rules; the clothes sale is open to adult second-hand clothing only, in clean and good condition, with each exhibitor provided a table, chairs, and space for one standard clothing rack.
