1. Watch Alfred Hitchcock’s The Paradine Case

What: Classic film noir

Enjoy the 1947 American courtroom drama The Paradine Case by iconic filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock – put on by the Théâtre des Capucins. In the words of the director himself, the film revolves around a “love story embedded in the emotional quicksand of a murder trial”.

The cast includes Gregory Peck, Alida Valli, Ann Todd, Charles Laughton, and Louis Jourdan.

2. Beer tasting with Spain’s Espiga Brewery

What: Craft beer tasting
Where: The Store, 11 Avenue de la Liberté in Luxembourg City

Craft beer lovers, get ready to explore the world of Espiga Brewery, one of Spain’s most exciting independent craft breweries. The Store in the capital organises a tasting session, including “bold flavors, fresh hops, and a deep dive into Espiga’s brewing philosophy with a guided tasting, stories, and exclusive beers” – good for groups but also individuals.

Spots are limited, so organisers recommend that you reserve in advance.

3. Learn to fix your damaged clothes

What: Sewing and clothing repair workshop
Where: Lët’z Refashion, 8–10 Rue Genistre in Luxembourg City

Ever feel guilty about throwing away clothes that, apart from a broken patch here and there, might actually still serve you for a long time to come? Time to head over to Repair Café, where sewing experts will show you how to give a second life to your clothes. Repair Café is open to everyone and free of charge.

4. A Valentine’s activity for couples

Care to find out how strong your romcom game is? Ready to beat you partner to it when it comes to recognising your favourite romantic songs? All of that and more can be found at Siegfried on Saturday, with a quiz night specifically curated for the international day of love. Yes, you could just go for a romantic dinner, buy some roses, or fill up on chocolate hearts... but why not spice things up with a bit of a heated rivalry?

5. A Valentine’s activity for singles

What: Single night at Zulu
Where: Zulu Blanc, 16 Rives de Clausen in Luxembourg City

For those still eager to find their very own valentine, head on down to Clausen and celebrate the Without Valentine party at Zulu. Guests get to wear coloured bracelets to show off their relationship status, meaning you can also safely support a single friend who wants to see what fish are left in the sea.

6. Take a historic tour of Luxembourg City

What: Historic tour of Luxembourg City
Where: 14 Rue du Saint Esprit

Step back in time and explore the history of our capital, courtesy of the Luxembourg City Museum. From its beginnings through to the 18th century, Count Siegfried himself is set to introduce you to his castle on Bockfiels and tell you more about the legends of Licilinburhuc.

Recommended age for children is six and up. The tour is free for children, accompanying adults need to buy museum admission.

7. Kick off carnival season at the Diekirch Cavalcade

What: Diekirch Cavalcade
Where: Starts on Route de Larochette, ends in front of town hall on Avenue de la Gare

Get ready to ring in carnival season in Luxembourg! As every year, the festive season begins with the Diekirch Cavalcade, which features the classic procession of festive wagons, as well as numerous places with live music and DJs. Head down to Diekirch to find out what all the fuss is about, or at least to catch some candy.

Fun fact: A ticket to the Cavalcade also gives you access to the Eldoradio afterparty, however, spots inside Al Seeërei are limited, so better get there early.
