1. Hear the Jordi Savall ensemble
What: Music and history intertwined

Navigating on the borders of music and history, Jordi Savall explores the infamous routes of slavery through songs of resistance and hope. He has formed an eclectic global ensemble of musicians joining him on stage, so get ready for a real music journey through time, cultures and identities.

2. See silent theatre production Birth
What: More than motherhood

Birth is a heartfelt production depicting the interconnected narratives of three generations of women within a single family, as they go through pregnancy, motherhood, marriage, and loss. Powerful storytelling without words. There's a 30-minute introduction by Janine Goedert prior to the performance (this one is with words!)
3. Visit metal fair
What: All things metal music
Where: Rockhal, 5 Av. du Rock'n'Roll, 4083 Esch-Belval

Find all things metal at the Metalbörse, including vinyls, shirts, CDs, signed items, and more. It's a great community gathering of metalheads at Rockhal, and entry is free as of 11am.

4. Re/pair your clothes
What: With help of costume designer
Where: Ariston, Theatre Esch, 9 Rue Pierre Claude, 4063 Esch-sur-Alzette

Rekindle the bond with your rough jeans or hole-filled socks as costume designer Peggy Wurth will help you fix your clothes with the right fabrics. You can participate in both workshops if you like (10am and 2pm), and there's lunch in-between. Reserve here.

5. Watch Paris qui dort
What: From 1924
Where: Cinémathèque, Place du Théâtre L-2613 Luxembourg
When: Thursday, 9 January at 7pm - info & tickets
For a more out-of-the-box movie experience, besides the usual blockbusters, watch the silent sci-fi comedy film Paris qui dort from 1924, lasting just under an hour, with musical accompaniment by drummer Stéphane Scharlé.
6. Join family games in the park
What: Games and team spirit
Where: Bertrange park

Join fun and games at Bertrange park on Saturday evening as organiser Trevor brings people of all ages together to interact, play games and create some team spirit. The important thing is that it's very inclusive for all. The event is free, just sign up and bring some motivation!
7. Start your Sunday with Reggie Washington
What: Revolutionary jazz artist
Where: Neimenster, 28 Rue Münster, 2160 Luxembourg
When: Sunday, 12 January at 11am - info & tickets
Reggie Washington was a key player in the modern jazz revolution of the 80s and 90s, collaborating with some of the biggest names. Together with Hervé Samb the duo will play jazz infused with Afro-American music and traditional Senegalese rhythms. Tickets are only €6 for this Sunday morning jazz apero.
