1 Jan - New Year's Eve Concert - CONCERT
We may still be in rainy Luxembourg, but the musicians of the Escher Theatre are taking you to the elegant, soft beaches of Rio de Janeiro with a set list of seductive bossa nova, rhythmic samba, and smooth jazz in their New Year's Eve concert. As is the case every year, local icon Gast Waltzing will conduct, and the show will feature Brazilian singer Paula Morelenbaum and the Orchestre national de Jazz Luxembourg. 2 Jan - 5 Jan - The Little Prince - THEATRE
See fresh choreographies, aerial acrobatics, and video projections at this contemporary adaption of Saint-Exupery’s masterpiece The Little Prince, perfect for kids 6 and older. The show is in French with German and English subtitles, and tickets are between €8-€25.

Luxembourg's magical Christmas Show goes into its last weekend. Prepare for a fun-filled event with performers from the world-famous Cirque du Soleil and Monte-Carlo Circus Festival. 2 Jan - World Gospel Family - MUSIC
Attend this concert by the World Gospel Family, performed with authentic joy and good humour. Its music carries a message from African-American culture and Black heritage, and the set list includes many important and famous tunes. Tickets start at €17.50 for adults.
3 Jan - 8 Feb - Wine Cheese Enjoy - FOOD
Winemakers and restaurateurs along the Moselle are hosting nightly events centered on fondue, raclette, and other cheeses paired with delicious local wines. The events run for two months at different locations every weekend. See programme here and reserve spots at restaurants.

4 Jan - Candlelight concert by Icon Strings - MUSIC
Immerse yourself in timeless melodies of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim, and more, all whilst surrounded by beautiful candlelight. Icon Strings is made up of award-winning musicians from London, who have played venues like Royal Albert Hall, the Wigmore Hall and Concertgebouw Amsterdam. Now in Marnach, €35.
4 Jan - Singin' In The Rain - CINEMA
Don and Lina are accomplished silent film actors who have often worked together. However, with the gradual transition of silent films to talkies, they face their share of struggles. At 8.30pm. Full cinema programme here.
4 Jan - 5 Jan - Yé! - THEATRE
The 13 members of Circus Baobab collective first displayed their acrobatic skills on the beach, and now perform on global stages. See acrobatic lifts propelling them in the air, vertiginous human pyramids and powerful hand-to-hand combat, all with a global message about reducing our plastic waste. Tickets under €20 at Escher Theater, with Saturday's performance at 8pm and 5pm on Sunday.

7 Jan - David Nihill - COMEDY
Irishman David Nihill will bring his cultural observations from the world to Carlitos Comedy Club that the LA Times branded as "One of Netflix is A Joke Fest's funniest shows". Tickets €30.
8 Jan - Danceperados of Ireland - DANCE
You can't stop Irish people dancing, it's in their blood! Danceperados of Ireland channel exactly that spirit. Come to this rousing show full of step-dancing, Irish music, beautiful green costumes, and high-paced energy. Tickets as of €35 plus fees at Opderschmelz.

8 Jan - El Topo - CINEMA
In this Mexican film from the 70s, an outlaw, El Topo defies the Four Masters of the Desert for the love of a woman. Having defeated them, his conscience rises until his wife betrays him, and his new life as a holy man begins. Starts at 8.15pm, more info on website.
9 Jan - Paris qui dort - CINEMA

9 Jan - 10 Jan - Birth - THEATRE
Birth is a heartfelt production depicting the interconnected narratives of three generations of women within a single family, as they go through pregnancy, motherhood, marriage, and loss. Powerful storytelling without words. Tickets €20.
10 Jan - NEA LONE - MUSIC
Luxembourg keyboardist and organ player Nea Lone combines her jazz background with a modern melting pot of hip hop, soul, and rock. Tickets are €15-€25 for this Deluxe Session at Trifolion.
11 Jan - Jordi Savall - MUSIC
Navigating on the borders of music and history, Jordi Savall explores the infamous routes of slavery through songs of resistance and hope. He has formed an eclectic global ensemble of musicians joining him on stage. Tickets as of €30.

12 Jan - Metalbörse - FAIR
Find all things metal at the Metalbörse, including vinyls, shirts, CDs, signed items, and more. It's a great community gathering of metalheads at Rockhal, and entry is free as of 11am.
12 Jan - Re/pair your clothes - WORKSHOP
Rekindle the bond with your rough jeans or hole-filled socks as costume designer Peggy Wurth will help you fix your clothes with the right fabrics. You can participate in both workshops if you like (10am and 2pm), and there's lunch in-between. Reserve here.
12 Jan - Reggie Washington - MUSIC
Reggie Washington was a key player in the modern jazz revolution of the 80s and 90s, collaborating with some of the biggest names. Together with Hervé Samb the duo will play jazz infused with Afro-American music and traditional Senegalese rhythms. Starts 11am, tickets €6.

Launched in 2021, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Academy was created to train and support the next generation of orchestra musicians. Exceptional young talents from all over the world gather in Luxembourg for two years of intensive training. 17 Jan - Al-Kindi Ensemble - MUSIC
Known in Europe as «whirling dervishes», the group from Damascus will be accompanied on the stage of the Philharmonie's Grand Auditorium by the musicians of the Al-Kindi Ensemble, a veritable conservatory of Syrian and Turkish Sufi musical traditions. A dizzying show, in every sense of the word. Tickets start at €26.
17 Jan - 18 Jan - Ombra - THEATRE
The Opera Ballet Vlaanderen presents Ombra by choreographer Alain Platel, alongside the Luxembourg Philharmonic, exploring human connections and emotions set under the boughs of a majestic tree. Tickets as of €25.

18 Jan - You Can Sing - MUSIC
Presented for the first time in Luxembourg, RTL and Rockhal are launching a singing competition for children and teenagers aged 8-14. The young participants will be mentored by Tali, winner of the Luxembourg Song Contest 2024, rehearse and perform on 18 January at Rockhal in front of family and friends. They'll also get a backstage pass to the Luxembourg Song Contest on 25 January. Register for tickets here, kids can apply to perform until 31 December.
18 Jan - Pleasing - MUSIC
Alternative rock band Pleasing are hosting a multidisciplinary show at Kulturfabrik that invites the audience to wander their art gallery corridor, watch a theatre piece performed before the concert, as well as the show itself. Limited tickets as of €12.50.
18 Jan - Bock Casemates - TOUR
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, these underground tunnels carved into the rock bear witness to the fortress city’s turbulent past. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the lower town through the many openings and loopholes. Tours are every Saturday, start at 2.30pm and cost €18.

19 Jan - Aladdin musical on stage - THEATRE

22 Jan - Board Game Night - SOCIAL
Join De Gudde Wëllen's monthly board game night, with tasty drinks, vegetarian/vegan snacks, and plenty of alternatives to the dusty classic games. Organiser board.gamenights will keep you up to date on what to expect each month. The gaming fee is €5, paid at the end of your night with the bill.
22 Jan - LGBTIQ+ Panel - TALK
Join a discussion on what access to culture LGBTIQ+ people have in Luxembourg, what experiences queer artists/cultural actors have, and what cultural institutions should be providing. Ideas and thoughts are welcome to be shared by the public. Hosted by Luxembourg's LEQGF (Queer Studies - Gender Studies - Feminist Studies). Free event but fill out this form. Starts 6pm.
23 Jan - MEMORIALS - MUSIC
Inspired by Broadcast, Portishead, and The Velvet Underground, UK-based MEMORIALS merge psychedelic rock, far out folk, and wild analogue electronics. See the band at Rotondes for €14.
23 Jan - Tatty Mcleod - COMEDY
Hot off the back of a sold-out UK tour, Tatty Macleod is bringing her certain 'je ne sais quoi' to Europe. Building on her hugely popular English vs French online sketches (over 390k followers on Instagram), Macleod asks the important questions about belonging and finding your tribe. 23 Jan - 25 Jan - RESET Jazz Festival - MUSIC
This January, eight artists from across Europe will share a residency at the heart of Neimënster. Their unique individual talents will collaborate and result in new music, which is presented in duos, as well as the full band. See the full programme here.

25 Jan - Children's Book Day - FAIR
The City of Dudelange is hosting the 16th children's and young people's book fair, free from 10am-6pm. Over 30 national and international authors and publishers await guests at Opderschmelz, and there are workshops, performances, and plenty of readings. Full timetable to be released shortly here.
25 Jan - Luxembourg Song Contest - MUSIC
Who will represent Luxembourg in Basel? All candidates will be performing their spectacular new songs, which can already be listened to here, and one lucky act will participate in Eurovision 2025. Let the finals begin! Grab your tickets for this Rockhal show, it will likely sell out.

25 Jan - 26 Jan - Festival 33,7 - MUSIC
Head to Kulturfabrik for an interesting festival concept: 1,500 pieces performed over the last 25 years are accessible to everyone. Expect screenings, live cinema, workshops, concerts, and more. Details on website.
28 Jan - James Walsh - MUSIC
Multi-platinum band Starsailor's James Walsh is embarking on his solo tour with his fourth album Everything Will Be Ok, stopping at Opderschmelz. For this gig, Walsh is performing solo acoustic renditions of songs from Starsailor’s extensive back catalogue, as well as songs from his solo project. Tickets are €20 plus fees.
28 Jan - DakhaBrakha - MUSIC

30 Jan - The 12 Tenors - MUSIC
