1. Pump some adrenaline at Schueberfouer

Schueberfouer has begun
! The largest summer fair on the Glacis square is back with calm and wild rides, snack and drink stands, games and all kinds of gift shops. An impressive 211 fairground vendors - many from Luxembourg, France and Germany - are present at the 681st (!) edition, running until 11 September. Here's our ultimate guide!

2. See Luxembourg's Playmobil collection

Young and old friends of Playmobil come together this weekend at the LuxPlaymoDays. Collectors from all over Europe set up their dioramas individually or in groups, as well as prepare stands in the 1300m2 hall. Visitors will be able to see 110 tables with originally packaged collections, a large selection of used sets as well as boxes with spare parts. Time to nerd out and be blown away by the scale of some of these treasures!

3. Do fun workshops for kids

There is a week-long summer programme for kids at Mudam at the moment, including designing your own logo, creating your own artwork, painting pictures from photos, filling up a garden and more...Have a look on the website and spend a few lovely hours here away from the sun (or rain).

4. Watch Superjhemp Retörns at open air cinema

What: Luxembourg's own superhero is back!

This Luxembourgish action film (Luxembourgish spoken, English subtitles) tells the tale of Superjhemp, a civil servant in his midlife crisis who, in order to save tiny Luxembourg from a cosmic catastrophe, must find the superpowers he has lost, then face his biggest fear: his family. Enjoy this wonderful film at the open air cinema in Leudelange.

5. Celebrate Last Summer Dance...one last time

Last Summer Dance has been a staple for northern Luxembourg's music scene for many years. Unfortunately all good things come to an end, and so does this festival. They've got a great, varied line-up for this last edition. Going out with a bang!

6. Mark Ukraine's Independence Day

Saturday is Ukraine's Independence Day, both a bleak and powerful day given the ongoing Russian war in the country. Celebrating this day is "a symbol of freedom and the ability to overcome any obstacles", the Luxembourg-based NGO LUKraine announces. It is staying positive and brings together people from various cultures, organising workshops and performances, as well as a delicious food court with the top dishes and drinks from the country. The cherry on top of the pie is a performance by TNMK, the most successful Ukrainian hip-hop group, that is visiting Luxembourg to share the vibrant culture of their country.

7. Attend book readings for kids

Every day between 16 August and 2 September, a free reading session takes place besides the Cathedral in the City. Sometimes stories are in English, other times in German or French. On Friday there is poetry slam by teenagers, a reading of The Second Princess in Luxembourgish on Saturday, and a workshop on Manga and Japan in French and English on Sunday.
