After a triumphant ten-year run, the Last Summer Dance Festival is back, and it's inviting everyone to join in for one last dance. The eighth edition of this remarkable music and arts festival will welcome the audience on Friday, August 25th, in the enchanting castle park of Erpeldange-sur-Sûre.
Exactly a decade ago, a unique festival was born – one that aimed to offer an alternative experience that transcended mere musical performances. Decentralized, multidisciplinary, sustainable, and inclusive – these are just a few of the pillars that have made Last Summer Dance an indispensable event in Luxembourg's cultural calendar.
On August 25th, the festival extends its final invitation to partake in its grand summer celebration. The lineup mainly features local Luxembourgish artists, with the exception of a group from Barcelona. You can find more info here.
In the spirit of a laid-back afterwork gathering, Friday night's stage will come alive with the project of the talented singer-songwriter Hannah H. For world music enthusiasts, the Barcelona-based group "Awa Pa Las Calvos" will delight the audience with their fusion of urban rhythms, flamenco, and pop.
Taking the spotlight is EDSUN, an icon of the Luxembourgish music scene with a unique style. Preceding EDSUN is the indie-rock group Dessy Mesk, delivering their sole summer concert at Last Summer Dance.
To conclude the splendid 2023 edition, attendees will sway and groove to the sounds of Nea Lone, a fresh rock-pop project by singer Nadja Prange and DJ Aka Ghost.
In addition to the vibrant performances, an artistic exhibition has been meticulously curated. Seven artists who have previously participated in the festival have been selected to provide their perspectives on the Last Summer Dance. The creative projects of Marina Herber, Anne Gillen, Lynn Kelders, Maurizio Fusillo, Elena Hentges, Mila Thoma, and Léa Giordano will be on display.
A commemorative magazine will also be published, offering a retrospective of the past ten years of the festival. A whimsical section of the art exhibition will humorously illuminate the festival's history of inception.
Don't miss the chance to be part of the farewell to a decade of artistic brilliance at the Last Summer Dance Festival on August 25th. It's not just an event; it's a celebration of creativity, community, and a decade of unforgettable memories.
