3. Witness acrobatic magic

What: Month-long family circus show
Where: Glacis

Until 4 January, the Champ du Glacis transforms into a sparkling winter wonderland, presenting the annual Adventscircus Cirque du Lux with its festive big top. Twinkling lights, dazzling scenery, and a magical atmosphere make it an unforgettable experience. Expect clowns, acrobatics and lots of fun for young and old. There are no animals and there’s no language barrier, only surprises and lots of wonderous moments!

4. Watch The Nightmare Before Christmas

What: Animation/Fantasy

Watch The Nightmare Before Christmas, a Gothic stop-motion animation about Jack Skellington, a being from Halloween Town, who finds Christmas Town and is instantly enchanted. The situation becomes riveting when his obsession with Christmas leads him to abduct Santa Claus.

5. Hear local jazz stars at annual reunion show

What: Modern Groove Jazz

This annual jazz concert is more than just a performance – it’s a tribute to Luxembourg’s rich musical tradition and a celebration of enduring friendships forged through music. Imagine a captivating blend of original pieces, timeless jazz standards, and inventive takes on pop favorites, all delivered in a fresh and exhilarating Modern Groove Jazz style. Featuring Pascal Schumacher on Vibraphone, Greg Lamy on Guitar, Marc Demuth on Double Bass, and Jeff Herr on Drums.

6. Explore Mudam for kids

At Mudam Luxembourg, families with children aged six and over can join a guided visit exploring the museum’s current exhibitions together. 7. Hear Christmas carols played on brass

What: Brass and Christmas
Where: Piano Kelly, 17 Rue de Munsbach, 6941 Niederanven
When: Friday, 19 December at 8.30pm – info & tickets

In support of Fondation EME, the award-winning Luxembrass ensemble is performing a selection of beloved Christmas tunes. Joining the show is Francis of Delirium, who will perform two songs from their 2024 album “Lighthouse”, as well as a special Christmas surprise. And lastly, to celebrate local youth talent, The Blazing Brass Trio, a chamber music group based in Sandweiler that is coached by Heather Madeira Ni, will perform a medley of German Christmas carols. Come for mulled wine and music and don’t forget to partake in the ugly sweater competition.
