You've already got the monthly What's On picks for family, but it's time you get the low-down. Here are our top favourites for this week!

Monday

There's no better way to enjoy the weather and the holidays than with the Kermesse de Pâques. Not only does this event take place Monday, it's going to be happening all week – until Easter Monday on 21 April! Go on fun rides, win prizes, and eat festival food in Esch on the Place Victor Hugo.

Tuesday

Go to Aalt Stadhaus in Differdange to watch De Fox an d’Fonsi retten de Bësch. This sweet animated film is about a fox and a hare who set off to find their friend, owl, who has mysteriously disappeared. It's being shown in Luxembourgish!

And before you forget, Kermesse de Pâques takes place all week.

Wednesday

Right in the City Museum in Luxembourg City, kids can use clay to create their own version of the Rosetta Stone. They'll carve their own symbols and make new languages happen! This time around, the workshop takes place in English.

There's more artistic fun to be had on Wednesday. Villa Vauban will host Zoom In: The colour magicians. Not only will they get a child-friendly tour of the museum, the kids will then be able to mix their own colours with paint. This time, the workshop will be in Luxembourgish.

Would you like to create your own small art mini-magazine from start to finish? By the Book is a bookbinding and risographic printing workshop for all ages. Mixing these two crafts, your family members will walk out of this event with their own handmade journal.

Other things still happening today? The Kermesse de Pâques!

Thursday

And now on to one of the busiest days of the week, Thursday!

Always wanted to organise a family album? Here's your moment! Mudam is hosting Tell Me Your Pictures, a workshop designed for your family to create their own unique album together. This will also be happening on Saturday this week.

Over in Esch, Konschthal invites you to participate in Riso Future Landscapes! This kids' workshop plays with risography and the use of bold colors. Organised by Nadine Rocco, one of the creators of the Second Best Zine, your kids will become zine-making machines! This workshop also takes place on Friday.

Villa Vauban has their painting workshop, Impress me! Aptly named, this workshop lets kids discover colourful works by a Luxembourg impressionist artist, and then they'll create their own Impressionist-inspired painting. If Thursday doesn't work, the same workshop happens on Friday too.

You know I love to throw in some movie classics in here, and lucky for you and your little ones, Mary Poppins
will be shown at the Cinémathèque. And yes, it's the Julie Andrews version! This classic imaginative film is about a magical nanny who takes care of two children, and it'll be shown in French.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again – Kermesse de Pâques!

Friday

We still have the Kermesse de Pâques going on! And then don't forget that the Riso Future Landscapes happens once more today at Konschthal in Esch. And last but not least, Villa Vauban has their painting workshop, Impress me!

Saturday

There's some fun stuff happening on Satuday. The popular Tuffi Atelier will be hosted by Familijen–Center at Cercle Cité in Luxembourg City. There will be stories told in Luxembourgish as well as group exercises and ideas for dealing with emotions.Visit the Kulturfabrik for the Out of the Crowd festival! This high-energy indie music festival features post-punk, math rock, and shoegaze bands from Luxembourg and abroad. Talk about the perfect way to introduce your kids to some of your favourite genres.

Other things still happening today? Your other options include the By the Book workshop with bookbinding and risograph techniques, Mudam's Tell Me Your Pictures family album workshop, and the Kermesse de Pâques! There's also an opportunity to create paper boats with your family in the open creative session at the Mudam, Drop in! Memory Patterns.

Sunday

It's Easter! Whether or not you celebrate, we still have some things for your family to go enjoy.

Mudam invites families to create artistic paper boats using text, poetry, and pattern in their open creative session, Drop in! Memory Patterns. If you're looking for something extra fun to do, this will also be one of the last days of the Kermesse de Pâques! And lastly, you can also catch the By the Book bookbinding and risograph printing workshop.

***BONUS*** Monday

I needed to be certain that no one misses one of the biggest events of Luxembourg! Éimaischen! Go visit the historic part of Luxembourg City – or walk through the village of Nospelt – and you'll find tons of artisanal bird whistles chirping, tweeting, trilling, and squawking. You don't want to miss this lively day filled with Luxembourgish tradition.

See you next week for more info on what's going on in Luxembourg! And you can see all of the events happening in the month of April here.
