Knitting on the grass at Villa Vauban
Mamie et Moi, in collaboration with Villa Vauban – Musée d’Art de la Ville de Luxembourg, invites the public to an afternoon of creativity and conviviality in the museum’s gardens.
Participants will take part in a collective knitting activity, creating colourful mosaic squares inspired by the work of Luxembourgish artist François Gillen. Materials will be provided on site, and visitors are encouraged to collaborate by helping one another assemble their knitted pieces. Once complete, participants are invited to photograph and share their mosaic with Mamie et Moi and Villa Vauban.
The event is designed as a relaxed, intergenerational gathering rather than a formal knitting class.
Suitable for all ages, it offers an opportunity to socialise outdoors and contribute to a shared artistic creation. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
Organised by Mamie et Moi in partnership with Villa Vauban.

Children’s Workshop: Magic colours in nature
The Ville d’Esch invites children and families to a creative outdoor workshop in Gaalgebierg Park. Participants will explore the hidden properties of natural pigments, discovering how colours change when mixed and learning to make their own colour-changing paints.
The session also includes experiments with invisible ink, revealed using a special homemade pigment. Children will extract colours from plants and other natural sources, before creating paintings that can be taken home. The hands-on activities are designed to be both educational and fun, with a focus on teamwork between children and accompanying adults.
Ideal for ages 5–10, though younger and older children are welcome. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to join in. The price covers one child and one adult, and includes all materials.

The workshop combines hands-on experimentation with practical advice, aiming to make sustainable gardening techniques easy to adopt at home.
