Hayley meets Robbie Coelho and Alex Howel to hear how one dad’s idea became Dalza — a game-changing app for parents of neurodivergent kids.

They say that necessity is the mother of invention, but in this particular case, it turned out to be the father! Up next on the “Mom Life in Luxembourg” podcast, I’m joined in the studio by Robbie Coelho and Alex Howel. Robby is the Founder of the Dalza App. Dalza is a platform (app and website) that allows parents to create a comprehensive, accessible profile for their child, that manages medical, educational, and social information all in one place. It empowers parents with full control over who can access their child's data, ensuring privacy and peace of mind.

Join me as we discuss his incredible story and personal why behind the idea for the app and the story from conception to funding to not only bringing it into the world, but becoming the overall winner in the Learning & Education Category at the World Summit Awards (WSA) 2025 World Summit Awards Global Champions 2025! This episode is a must listen if you have an idea and you want to incubate or get funding here in Luxembourg, if you have neurodivergent children or kids who suffer from a chronic condition, or if you just want to hear the story of a real life do-gooder!

Robby and Alex are both parents to neurodivergent children, and that’s where our story begins. Robby was at yet another doctor’s appointment with a new provider who took out a blank piece of paper and said “tell me about your son.” It was his lightning bolt moment – he knew there had to be a better way. And that’s how Dalza was born.

Dalza offers a customizable, holistic overview of a child’s profile that can travel with the child wherever they go, easing the burden on parents and enhancing the support for children.

Robbie and his team developed Dalza with everyone in mind – not just parents, but also the educators and specialists who support these children daily. Their input is invaluable, leading to features like feedback functionalities that streamline communication. Dalza's acute monitoring system enables real-time input and feedback from all parties, ensuring that changes in a child’s routine or health are managed appropriately. The platform bridges gaps between care received at home, school, and beyond.

Dalza is not just an app; it's a movement towards a more inclusive future. And if you’ve been tuning into the show for awhile, you’ll know we are all about inclusivity! Please give it a listen and let me know what you think. Plus you can hear how you might qualify for a free subscription!
