Luxembourg in 13thSwitzerland's Nemo wins the Eurovision Song Contest 2024
Saturday evening saw the grand final of this year's Eurovision Song Contest unfold in Malmö, with contestants giving it their all against a backdrop of controversy.
After 31 years away from the contest, Luxembourg returned to Eurovision this year, as Tali reached 13th place with “Fighter” on 103 points.
But the competition was fierce, with favourites such as Croatia, Israel and Ireland scoring big thanks to the jury and public votes. Overall, however, Switzerland could not be stopped, as winning the competition and taking over from Sweden as the next host country in 2025. Nemo topped both the jury and public vote with a whopping 591 points for their song “The Code”.
It is yet to be confirmed whether Luxembourg will participate once more next year, but whatever happens, the Grand Duchy can be proud of its comeback.
