Grand Duke Henri paid a visit to Luxembourg’s Olympic athletes on Tuesday, meeting with them at the Olympic Village in Cortina d’Ampezzo, one of six villages set up for the 2026 Winter Games.
During the visit, he presented the athletes with the official golden International Olympic Committee (IOC) pin, a token given to all participants in the Games.
The Grand Duke was accompanied by Michel Knepper, president of the Luxembourg Olympic and Sporting Committee (COSL), as well as Raymond Conzemius, Laurent Carnol, and Luxembourg’s Ambassador to Italy, Christophe Schiltz.
Grand Duke Henri has been travelling across Italy throughout the Games, commuting between various competition venues and attending several events as a spectator. As a member of the IOC, his presence carries both representative and symbolic weight, serving as a message of personal solidarity with the Luxembourgish delegation.
During the visit, he took time to speak with athletes Gwyneth ten Raa and Matthieu Osch about their experiences at the Games, their performances, and their expectations. Both received their golden IOC pins from the Grand Duke during the encounter.
