Luxembourg opened their Rugby Europe Conference campaign with a commanding 6–60 victory over Norway in Stavanger on Saturday, sealing the result with a dominant second-half display.

The visitors went into half-time with a narrow lead but took full control after the break to secure a morale-boosting, and confident, win.

In a press release from the Luxembourg Rugby Federation, head coach James Kent said the turnaround came after a decisive team talk.

"Halftime, we had a talk about our defence and how we need to be more disciplined and more direct in attack. And we did that. So that was really, really positive."

Luxembourg’s defensive shape tightened in the second half as they shut down Norwegian attacks and converted their own opportunities through direct, structured play.

“I think we corrected what needed to be corrected,” Kent added.

The win gives Luxembourg early momentum ahead of their next fixture against Estonia, which they will host at the Stade de Luxembourg on Saturday 6 December.

“We’ve got a lot to take away from this game – positives and areas to work on,” Kent said. “Now we turn our attention to Estonia.”
