Luxembourg's Jeanne Lehair took second place in the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) sprint race in Fréjus, France, while fellow triathletes David Lang, Gregor Payet, Lucas Cambrésy, and Tom Heyart also competed internationally with mixed results.
At the fourth round of the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS), Jeanne Lehair secured second place on Sunday. The race in Fréjus, held in sprint format, saw the Luxembourg triathlete emerge first from the water, stay in the lead group on the bike, and remain among the front runners on the run.
In the end, she finished just six seconds behind France's Olympic champion Cassandre Beaugrand. Third place went to Léonie Périault, 17 seconds behind the winner.
Only a week earlier, Lehair had celebrated victory at the Supertri event in Chicago.
Men's race
In the men's race, David Lang made his WTCS debut and finished in 31st place. The victory went to Australia's Matthew Hauser, ahead of Vasco Vilaça from Portugal and Brazil's Miguel Hidalgo.
There was also a podium finish for Gregor Payet in the 70.3 competition in Zell am See, Austria. Among the professional field, he crossed the line in 3:47:11, just behind Fabian Kraft.
Meanwhile, at the European Triathlon Championships in Istanbul, Lucas Cambrésy secured 13th place, his best international result to date.
Things were less fortunate for Tom Heyart, who suffered a fall during a transition at the European Cup in Zagreb. He still managed to finish 26th.
