FC Metz striker Brian Madjo has been named in England’s Under-17 squad for upcoming fixtures against Venezuela, Israel, and Germany.

The 16-year-old, who also holds Luxembourgish nationality, is widely regarded as a promising attacking talent. Recently, new Luxembourg coach Jeff Strasser called him up to the senior squad for the World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Northern Ireland and Slovakia. Madjo declined the invitation, despite already making three appearances for the Red Lions’ senior team. A fourth cap would have tied him permanently to Luxembourg.

By joining England’s U17s, Madjo now has the chance to showcase his ability with the Three Lions on the international stage. However, FIFA rules mean he will not be eligible to represent England’s senior team for the next three years, having last featured for Luxembourg on 6 June against Slovenia.
