After finishing second at the Ironman 70.3 in Valencia and taking victory at the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) race in Yokohama, Jeanne Lehair has now added another first place to her record.
This latest success came at the Supertri triathlon in Chicago. On Saturday evening in Luxembourg time, Lehair surged ahead of Britain's Georgia Taylor-Brown with an impressive burst of pace on the run, passing her just one kilometre before the finish line. It marks her third Supertri victory, following wins in London in 2023 and Boston in 2024. Third place went to Hungary's Fanni Szalai, just 17 years old.
In recent weeks, the Luxembourg athlete with French roots has repeatedly surprised the triathlon world and has established herself as one of the big winners of the season. A specialist in short distances, she has competed for Luxembourg since 2022 and since April this year has also been testing herself over middle distances, with clear success.
Her season debut also marked her first attempt at the 113-kilometre distance, where she placed seventh in Abu Dhabi. That was followed by second place in Valencia, then only three weeks later a win in Yokohama over the Olympic distance – her first WTCS race.
The 29-year-old's next steps will therefore be followed with great interest.
