Luxembourg's Tom Habscheid secured a bronze medal in the men's Shot Put F63 event with a throw of 14.97m.

The F63 classification is for athletes with lower limb impairments. He finished behind Kuwait's Faisal Sourour and Great Britain's Aled Davies who threw 15.31m and 15.10m respectively.

Habscheid becomes only the fifth Luxembourger to win a medal after Henri Kaude (1984), Mathias Bingen (1984), Marco Schmit (1980) and Marcel Kockelman (1984).

The Paralympian was delighted after the competition, and said he lacked the words to fully describe his experience. "I just want to thank everyone who supported me and made this possible," he said, while acknowledging these had been "the best games ever" for him.

"I'm happy with myself," he continued. "I can lay my head down in peace now."

Habscheid was presented with his medal by Luxembourg's Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, which he described as a special moment.
