At around 6.30am on Wednesday, two thieves stole a wallet and a backpack from a delivery van parked on Rue Joseph Junck, while the driver was unpacking items from the back.
Police initiated a search and found one of the suspects. Shortly afterwards, they found the stolen backpack abandoned on Rue de Reims. Throughout the course of the investigation, they discovered the suspects had tried to use the stolen credit cards.
A police patrol carried out checks on two men on Rue de Bonnevoie at 2am on Thursday, shortly after a break-in was reported on Rue du Verger. A search of the men revealed tools, leather and latex gloves, and a cellar key which they had used to access the basement of a residence.
At around 11.30pm on Tuesday night, police were informed of a person illegally occupying a vehicle on Route d'Ettelbruck in Diekirch. The individual had fled after being disturbed by the vehicle's owner.
A police patrol immediately intervened, locating the suspect and the car owner near the train station. The suspect was taken into custody.
