The Men's National Golf Team won the silver medal in the European Team Shield Cup 2024 for the first time.
While we focus on the Olympics, we couldn't help but admire the extraordinary performance of the National team at the Golf Club Gams-Werdenberg, Liechtenstein.
Arnaud Castellana, Lenny Mines, Stefan Rojas, Nicolas Winandy, and team captain Andrew Rojas, together with national coaches Leon Marks and Douglas McClean, brought the team to the finals played this past Saturday. This is the first time Luxembourg's team played in the tournament final, confirmed Rick Mohr from the Luxembourgish Golf Federation (FLG).

The team came second after a good fight in a match-play against Turkey and, for the first time in the history of the FLG brought home the silver medals after the four days of the tournament. Turkey was the gold winner, and Andorra came in third place. The countries in the competition were Luxembourg, Turkey, Andorra, Bulgaria, Liechtenstein, Malta, Serbia, Albania, Cyprus, Georgia, Ukraine, and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
In the women's tournament, Turkey also dominated the field, leaving Bulgaria in second place. For third place, the Luxembourg women's team, Marie Baertz, Maud Forzy, Emma Lahaije, and Lisa Steingrube, played against Estonia, finishing in fourth place after the final match. The countries participating in the women's event were Luxembourg, Estonia, Bulgaria, Malta, Ukraine, Greece, Croatia, Latvia, Turkey, Hungary, and Liechtenstein.

The players on both teams are young and very talented, and we expect to see more records for Luxembourg in the near future. "I think the overall performance was good, and we can build up on one that so the team can win in the Team Shield in the upcoming years," Rick Mohr added.
