Pedestrian struck and severely injured in hit-and-run accident early this morning
Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorist failed to stop having struck a pedestrian at 7.45am this morning in Wincrange.
The accident, which took place on the main road, left a man severely injured, with passers-by taking care of him until the authorities came and according to the police, the motorist involved was nowhere to be found once they arrived, although it has been reported that the driver later turned themselves in. Anyone with helpful information is encouraged to contact police by dialling 113 or emailing 113@police.etat.lu.
An investigation has been launched into the incident to determine the exact circumstances, as authorities closed the road to traffic following the accident, with motorists directed via a diversion.
