Police say the victim was struck with an object during the incident. Officers identified a suspect in the vicinity shortly afterwards. An alcohol test revealed the individual was intoxicated at the time.

The victim suffered two injuries to the back of their head and was transported to hospital for treatment. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the altercation and are working to clarify the sequence of events.

Further incidents overnight

In addition to the e-Lake incident, police responded to two other cases overnight in which individuals were detained for sobering up.

At around 11.30pm on Sunday, police were called to the Kirchberg hospital after a person began shouting loudly and attempted to spit at staff members. The individual was heavily intoxicated, considered a danger to themselves and others, and was subsequently placed in a sobering-up cell.

At approximately 12.30am in Esch, police were summoned to a café following a disturbance. Once the music was turned off and guests had stepped outside, officers noticed a man who was clearly intoxicated and refusing to leave the area. He repeatedly tried to re-enter the café and remained uncooperative with police, leading to his detention for sobering up.
