  • Fiji will ease Covid-19 restrictions and announce its reopening for international travel after the country hit a vaccination milestone Saturday.
  • Over 500 Covid cases have been linked to a music festival in Glasgow, Public Health Scotland said. The TRNSMT music festival attracted about 50,000 people over three days in September. It is not sure whether the virus was contracted at the event.

  • Singapore will allow quarantine-free entry to vaccinated travellers from Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK, Canada and the US, according to the country’s transport minister.
  • Russia recorded a new record of daily deaths from Covid-19 on Saturday, with 968 deaths.
  • The toll of the Covid-19 pandemic in Latin America and the Caribbean exceeded 1.5 million deaths on Friday, according to a count made by AFP from official figures. The coronavirus death toll in particular exceeded 600,000 in Brazil on Friday, the second worst affected country in the world after the United States.
