2026 BUDGET – Finance Minister Gilles Roth has presented Luxembourg's draft 2026 state budget to the Chamber of Deputies, outlining a vision of "growing together" that focuses on fiscal stability, social cohesion, and long-term investment. The proposal faced significant criticism from opposition parties, who raised concerns over its financing and overall vision. A central point of contention is how the government plans to fund its expenditures. Opposition leaders alleged that Minister Roth failed to provide satisfactory answers on this matter.

ENERGY PRICES – Households in Luxembourg could see their energy spending fall significantly in 2026, with STATEC projecting a nearly 7% decrease in prices due to a significant drop in energy prices and government intervention to stabilise or even reduce the network fees.

The decision was taken at an extraordinary general assembly last night. The AMMD is calling for serious negotiations to begin, stressing this is also in the interest of patients.
