A series of incidents kept emergency services busy across Luxembourg on Wednesday evening and into the early hours of Thursday.
The first occurred shortly before 6pm when a fire broke out at a bakery on Route de Luxembourg in Pétange. According to the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS), two individuals required treatment for smoke inhalation. Fire brigades from Pétange and Käerjeng, along with paramedics from Esch-sur-Alzette and Sanem-Differdange, responded to the scene.
Around the same time, a second fire was reported at a house in the Demy Steichen neighbourhood in Steinfort. This blaze resulted in material damage only but required a significant response. Teams from five intervention centres – Steinfort, Hobscheid, Mamer, Redange, and Luxembourg City – were involved in the operation.
Later, at 9.40pm in Luxembourg City, a vehicle struck a pedestrian on Rue Bender in the Gare neighbourhood. The pedestrian sustained injuries.
The final incident took place in the early hours of Thursday. At approximately 1.15am, a car crashed into the guardrails on the A3 motorway toward Luxembourg City near Aire de Berchem, resulting in one injury.
