Shortly after 1am, the couple, who appeared to be intoxicated, got into a car and drove away from the hospital.
The driver proceeded to crash into a parked car on Avenue Lucien Salentiny, but refused to stop after the accident. Eventually, the police caught up with the couple in Bereldange, where they attempted to pull the car over. The woman became aggressive and hit one of the police officers in the face before trying to run away. However, officers were able to catch her after just a few metres and took her to a cell to sober up.
The driver's breathalyser test yielded a positive result.
