Fireworks are a popular tradition on New Year’s Eve, however in many places setting them off without authorisation from the municipality is not permitted.

Each year, numerous locations across the country ban fireworks, bangers, and other firecrackers on New Year's Eve for safety, environmental, and animal welfare reasons. We have compiled an overview of the municipalities where fireworks were permitted or prohibited last year, compared to this year.
