Mobility Minister Yuriko Backes suffered a sprained right knee while on a working visit to Germany, the government announced on Wednesday. The injury occurred during a visit to the European military support mission for Ukraine.

Following medical advice, Backes will considerably limit her official travel in the weeks ahead to support her recovery.

The Ministry stated that she will continue to carry out her duties as Minister for Mobility, Defence, and Gender Equality, but some meetings will now be held remotely or in an adapted format.

Only the most necessary official journeys will remain on her schedule.
