
As part of a report marking the occasion of Labour Day on 1 May, Statec published an overview on employment in Luxembourg, examining employees’ satisfaction with their jobs and salaries.

Statec noted that the vast majority of workers resident in Luxembourg, or 87%, say they are “fairly” or “completely” satisfied with their work situation.
However, employee satisfaction varies greatly according to profession, whether by sector or associated salary:
The data shows that farmers are more likely to be satisfied with their work (93%), followed by skilled trades (91%) and managers, directors and executives (90%). Personal service employees, such as hairdressers, waiters, guides, janitors and so on, are less likely to be satisfied at work.
In terms of salary, 78% of managers say their wages are adequate. In contrast, among farmers and machine operators only 49% and 53% claim to be adequately paid.
