Political changesWaringo report could be useful for constitutional updates: Mars di Bartolomeo

RTL Today
RTL Radio's guest on Wednesday morning was the new president of the parliamentary commission on institutions, Mars di Bartolomeo.

On the topic of the Grand Ducal Court and the Waringo report, di Bartolomeo first stressed the normality of the public prosecutor’s office verifying claims of physical violence at the Court. The investigation was announced after Land journalist Pol Schock made the allegations on air.

As for the Waringo report and its place in politics, the MP claimed that it is apt for the report to be published, given the Chamber of Deputies’ emphasis on revising the constitution. One chapter of the revision will focus on reforming the state - currently a constitutional monarchy.

Referring to the Grand Duchess’s role, the MP pointed out that her role is not actually defined in the constitution. Nevertheless, the question could arise in conjunction with revising the fundamental law. Di Bartolomeo made sure to stress that this would require a total political consensus if the question were to be visited.
