In a speedy party change, RTL sources reveal that former CSV councillor Christopher Lilyblad, who left the party on Saturday, has found a new political affiliation.
Sources reveal that Lilyblad will be joining five other Volt candidates for the European elections.
Lilyblad, who founded his own consulting firm after being the director of the Cercle de Coopératioun, is meant to take over an alderman role in Betzdorf in 2020.
With the addition of Lilyblad, RTL's sources confirm that Volt Lëtzebuerghas a complete list of six candidates. The other candidates include the former rector of the University of Luxembourg Rolf Tarrach, and Volt Lëtzebuerg president George Penn.
The pan-European Volt party was founded in Austria in 2017 and bases itself on the Amsterdam declaration, which aims to rebuild Europe and create a sustainable European community.
Volt's goal is to have at least 25 MEPs from seven different countries in order to create a European Parliament faction.
It looks like at least 10 parties or movements will present candidates in the Grand Duchy for the European elections. Complete lists must be submitted to the district court by Wednesday evening.
