A passenger was arrested Tuesday morning after threatening a CFL security guard with a knife aboard a train. The incident occurred following a fare dispute on the Luxembourg-Belgium route.

The confrontation began when two individuals were removed from the train at Troisvierges station around midday on 24 June 2025 for refusing to buy a ticket to continue their journey to Belgium. While both initially disembarked, one suspect re-boarded and brandished a knife at security personnel.

Police responded immediately, confiscating the weapon and arresting the aggressor on orders from the public prosecutor’s office. The suspect appeared before an examining magistrate that evening, where detention was ordered.

In a separate case, a person reportedly stole money from the register of a bar in Pétange on Tuesday evening. A police patrol subsequently took the presumed culprit to the police station for further investigations. The individual was ultimately arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office and presented to an examining magistrate on Wednesday morning. Authorities continue searching for a second individual connected to the theft.
