At around 1.30pm, several people called the police to report three BMWs racing on the German A64 motorway between Luxembourg and Trier–Ehrang at clearly excessive speeds. According to the German police report, their aggressive driving endangered several other road users.

The three cars, each carrying several people, were stopped in Trier–Ehrang thanks to the swift intervention of German federal police patrols and officers from the Schweich motorway police station. Police were able to confirm that the vehicles had participated in an illegal race. The drivers had their licences confiscated, and several legal proceedings were launched.

Police are now looking for witnesses who can provide information about the race. In particular, they are appealing for the driver of a red Ford, who was endangered shortly before the Biewerbachtal viaduct, to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Schweich motorway police station by phone at +49 6502 91650 or by email at .
