According to ANIL, Luxembourg not only needs appropriate care policy, but the profession's delegates also lack professional respect and are not taken seriously.
ANIL argued that this deplorable reality was exemplified by the Ministry of Health's reluctance to employ a supervisor who would oversee these aspects of the health profession. They also highlighted that nurses are currently not not represented within the quadripartite committee for sickness and maternity insurance.
The association also lamented that their suggestions within the nomenclature committee were systematically overruled - and even spoke of introducing an "empty chair policy", following the example of the doctor's association (AMMD).
Additionally, they noted a nurse's work is difficult to measure quantitatively, making a performance catalogue an unsuitable evaluation method.
ANIL, an association that comprises roughly 10% of the country's nursing staff, demands more career opportunities, more time for patients and more influence within their profession.
